Penguin’s Igloo

February 1, 2011

This a craft from the Mailbox site.  Most libraries carry back issues of The Mailbox magazine and theme books.  We’ve been fortunate to find a few Mailbox books at local thrift stores.

Penguin’s Igloo

Materials for one:

  • penguin cutout
  • 9″ x 12″ blue paper rectangle
  • 1″ x 9″ white paper strips
  • crayons
  • scissors
  • glue

Directions:
To begin the project, a youngster colors any penguin cutout and glues it to the blue paper.

Then s/he cuts the white paper so that the pieces resemble blocks of ice.

To complete the project, the child glues the blocks around the penguin to create an igloo.
