Faux-tatoes? What? That just makes no sense. Surely I mean po-tatoes, right?
Just look at the picture: turkey meatloaf, broccoli, and fried potatoes…
Yes, there is a nice piece of turkey meatloaf and a big serving of broccoli.
But…those are not fried potatoes; those are fried turnip pieces, meant to look like fried potatoes.
Faux-tatoes — false potatoes.
Just another bit of low-carb eye candy. 🙂
- peel a few small turnips
- chop as you would for fried potatoes
- boil for 5-10 minutes, or until turnip pieces are fork-tender
- drain and add to fry pan
- fry, in oil, until browned to your liking
- optional: add onions to fry pan, along with tender turnip pieces
- season, as desired
