Chicken Legs…

May 20, 2011

My 4-year old and I recently bought our first rotisserie chicken from Costco.  The car smelled divine, the entire ride home.  All I could think about was eating that chicken; little did I know my daughter was having the same thoughts.  As soon as we walked through our door, my daughter asked, “When can we eat?  I’m starving for some of that chicken!”  I laughed and we both held our breaths as we opened the plastic lid.  To say we tore into the chicken would be an understatement.  🙂

The chicken was beyond tender.  My daughter grabbed one of the legs and the soft meat just pulled away from the bone.  After her first bite, with a dreamy look in her eyes, “Mama, it melts in my mouth like butter!”

We finished off both legs and thighs, and as I was closing the lid, to pop the rest in the fridge, I heard my little one utter, “I wish chickens had more legs!”
